
Senior Research Associate or Assistant Professor
The Department of Neurology at Michigan State University is
seeking a qualified Ph.D. (or equivalent) trained research scientist
with expertise in basic or translational neuroscience research to
co-direct an established neuroscience research lab within a
research-intensive, university environment. Qualified applicants should
have prior post-doctoral research experience in the area of neuroscience
or similar research area. A competitive applicant should have
competence in biochemical, histological and behavioral assays using in
vivo and in vitro models neurological diseases in addition to other
laboratory skills. A strong background in biochemical techniques and
familiarity with good laboratory practice will be favored. The
successful applicant will have the option to develop an independent,
extramurally funded research program. Starting salary and benefits will
be competitive and commensurate with prior level of training and

Postdoctoral Fellowship
A post-doctoral fellowship is immediately available in
the Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology at Michigan State University.
We use molecular and cellular approaches to study cell death in neurological
diseases such as ALS and Stroke. Opportunity also exists for "brain
repair" research using stem cells in animal models of disease. Candidates
should have a strong interest in translation neuroscience research. Salary
