Student Background/Interests
I graduated from Georgia State University in the spring of 2008 with a B.S. in Biology and concentration in Neuroscience with the support of a Howard Hughes Medical Institute scholarship and a University scholarship. I conducted undergraduate research in the lab of Dr. Laura Carruth where I studied the molecular and hormonal factors that contribute to sexual differentiation of the Australian zebra finch song nuclei. My current research interests include the effects of steroid hormones on the sexual differentiation of the brain, neuronal circuitry development, and sexual behavior.
I am originally from Venezuela and I enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures. Outside of the lab I am interested in cultural events, artistic performances, and plastic arts. I also love to dance!
